Plateau #1 - I know there will be many more. But it's how I will get through them that will make me this time.
So I do that faux pa of weighing myself daily, same time everyday. So maybe this isn't a plateau. But let's just say it is a long weekend plateau. Because over the whole long weekend the scales haven't budged (though it is a DEFINITE positive that the numbers didn't go up).
I have to say, I stood on the scales 10 times this morning, just hoping the next weigh maybe 50..100g lighter?
But it's not all to do with numbers is it? After all, it feels great to wear a pair of shorts comfortably that made me feel like a rolled pork roast only a few weeks ago. Tops are looser and I walk around with a energy and a purpose now. No longer do I dawdle around like I'm 36 weeks pregnant.
That I have achieved on my own in the last few weeks, so how much better am I going to get when 12wbt starts in February?
I just have to focus on the positives and stick to it. I will get through it :)

Where I'm hurting: Yesterday I did a kick boxing dvd and im feeling it in my inner thighs (probably from all the side kicks)!
Try not to focus on the weight... You will be experiencing many other changes including shrinking, but maintaining (or even gaining!) weight. If you haven't taken measurements yet, I highly recommend you do. It will show MUCH more than weighing yourself with, particularly if you are doing a bit of strength work and building muscle.
ReplyDeleteTo give you an idea, my measurements are the same as when I weighed 77kg, but I now weigh 84.5kg
So good work seeing the big picture! Clothes are an awesome way of monitoring progress! Sounds like you will need to do some clothes shopping soon!
Yay for the jogging! :)
xx
Yeah. Ive been lazy with the measuring. Only coz we aren't at that stage in 12wbt yet (I think it will be the week before).
DeleteWould u know... would burning less calories at fatburning level (65% heart rate) better than burning more calories at fitness heart rate 80% for the same length of time?
You see fatburning vs fitness on all the equipment and on my hrm... so I question am I doing the right thing for me?
Ignore the whole "fat burning zone" stuff...
ReplyDeleteI know that you're trying to lose weight and that your goals are largely around that, however I thought I'd share a philosophy that I truly believe in...
"Appearance is a consequence of fitness".
If you train hard and eat clean, your body will follow. So when you're training, try and focus on getting fitter and stronger rather than fussing over cals in and cals out.
yeah i guess its all hand in hand.. the fitter u are the stronger your muscles then in turn the more you burn ;)
DeleteJust keep moving just keep moving :D
That's it! xx
